Toyota Recalls 778,000 Rav4s and HS250hs in US

in the US for improperly the possibility of rear suspension failure. 

The recall includes 760,000 2011 Rav4s and 18,000 2010 HS250hs. Toyota found that if the rear suspension nuts are not tightened to the proper spec following a rear wheel alignment, excessive play may occur at the threaded portion of the arm, followed by rust formation. If the rust forms, the threaded portion of the rear suspension arm may wear and cause the arm to separate.

Granted it sounds like quite a number of events would have to happen to make the suspension fail, but Toyota says that it is developing a remedy and will fix the problem as soon as they have a repair ready.
