racecar. Today, Toyota has released the first teaser image of the car and announced that it will have more than 400hp. It also says that it will be based on an existing production model.

According to Toyota, the car will have a "low-capacity, high-power internal combustion engine with electric motors to give a combined maximum power output of more than 400 hp." That seems to indicate a small turbocharged engine combined with a hybrid powerplant with multiple electric motors.

It will share some features with the TS030, but it is not clear that the hybrid uses ultra capacitors like the racecar. It will have two driving modes - Road and Track.

Given that it is using an existing platform, it seems that this is not the hybrid sports car that Toyota and BMW have been developing together.

Toyota will present the concept on September 10 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
