also unveiled in Geneva a concept described as a "machine for extreme driving." Apparently the Audi TT quattro sportAudi TT quattro sportGermany, 2014 > present can reach 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
Audi's Technical Director, Ulrich Hackenberg says that the concept shows what the technology placed on the new TT generation is capable of and is a way to achieve a new status to the model, including in competition. The TT quattro sport may ultimately become a Club Sport version of the model.
Based on the third generation of the TT , the concept is equipped with a 420hp 2.0 liter engine and 450Nm of torque. This represents a specific power 210hp per liter. Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and Audi quattro system.
Audi also did some development work to improve the dynamic capabilities of the TT through a lower and stiffer suspension. Other upgrades include 20 inches alloy wheels with mounting central locking, semi-slick tires, a carbon fiber spoiler to increase downforce and a single-frame grille.
The interior is similar to a production TT but includes Alcantara trim, low waist 'bucket seat', four-points seat belts and storage for two racing helmets.
Although not presented as a substitute of the TT RS, the concept indicates that Audi is clearly trying to withdraw more from the five-cylinder engine of the RS versions.
