At next month’s Geneva Motor Show Porsche will be presenting its latest 911 Series model: the 911 Turbo S. Allying power, performance and driving dynamics the new 911 is powered by a six-cylinder boxer boosted by two exhaust gas turbochargers with variable turbine geometry, increasing its power over the 911 Turbo by 30 to 530 bhp. The new 911 Turbo S has a maximum torque of 700 Newton-metres and is equipped with all high-tech components available only as options on the “regular” 911 Turbo.
Although it has more power and dynamic performance than the 911 Turbo, the Turbo S has the same fuel consumption of the latter (11.4 litres/100 km), which makes it by far the most efficient sports car in its performance class.
The new 911 is equipped exclusively with the seven-speed Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) and in conjunction with Launch Control on the Sport Chrono Package Turbo accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 10.8 seconds and has a top speed of 315 km/h.
The new Porsche 911 Turbo S will be available in both Coupé and Cabriolet version from May 2010.
