Audi added a new 3.0 TDI engine to the Q7 lineup. This version has a power output of 150 kW (204 HP) and a fuel consumption of 7.2 liters of diesel per 100 km, which represents CO2 emissions of 189 grams per km.
This large SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 9.1 seconds and is able to reach a top speed of 205 km/h.
According to Audi, besides the efficiency, the 3.0 liter V6 still offers the large SUV power and smoothness. The engine is matted with an eight-speed tiptronic and the quattro permanent all-wheel drive technology.
Weighting less than 200 kilograms and having received enhancements to minimize internal friction, the new V6 TDI featuring in the Q7 is a high tech engine. It also features an innovative thermal management. The crankcase and the cylinder heads have separate cooling water circuits. The coolant is not circulated within the block while the engine is warming up.
The injection pressure reaches the 2,000 bar thanks to the common-rail system with piezo injectors, while the turbocharger and the camshafts' control times have been optimized for maximum efficiency. The engine is also equipped with the start-stop system, which deactivates the engine as soon as the vehicle comes to a stop. During deceleration an energy recovery system stores energy.
