Audi introduced its new super four-door coupe, the RS/ Sportback. Power comes from the twin-turbocharged 4.0 TFSI V8 with 560hp and 516.29lb-ft of torque (700Nm). The car is Audi’s big reveal at the North American International Auto Show along with the SQ5 and facelifted R8.

The RS7 Sportback can get to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds and hit an unlimited top speed of 189mph (305km/h). The limited top speed is 173mph (280km/h). Its average fuel economy is 24mpg US (9.8l/100km).

The only transmission available is an eight-speed Tiptronic with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and all-wheel drive. During normal driving, power is distributed 60% to the rear and 40% to the front, but that can be shifted as traction is needed.

The engine uses cylinder deactivation to run as a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder when all of the power in not necessary. Audi estimates the system lowers fuel economy by 5% in general and 10% when cruising at normal speeds.

In terms of looks the RS7 is similar to the standard A7. It rides on 20in wheels with 21in wheels as an option. Brakes are upgraded to wave-shaped 15.35in (390mm) units, and 16.54in (420mm) carbon brakes are an option. It comes with a standard air suspension that is 0.79in (20mm) lower than the standard A7.
