Founded in 1986, Benetton Formula Ltd. was a Formula One constructor that entered the championship until 2001. Property of the Benetton family, owner of the a worldwide chain of clothing stores with the same name, the team was based in Witney, Enstone, United Kingdom.
The Benetton team is best known for its success with Michael Schumacher, who conquered 19 of the team's 27 career victories and two drivers' championships.
The team was bought in 2001 by Renault, but continued to compete as Benetton during that season, but became Renault F1 in 2002.
