The Rapide Jet 2+2 is a car commissioned by a buyer. The car is an adaptation of the Aston Martin Rapide to a station wagon.
Bertone stretched the rear slightly to add the rear hatchback. The concept for the design comes from the Jet 2 that Bertone built in 2004 based on the Vanquish. That car turned the Vanquish into a shooting brake, but the car remained a two-door.
The design was meant to stay as true to Aston Martin as possible and have a very factory look. The rear-most pillar is bent forward to give the car a more aggressive look.
Inside, there are four individual seats. The rear seats are able to fold down to increase the cargo room.
Bertone says the buyer is an Aston Martin collector who worked with them to tailor the design exactly to his wishes. The buyer selected all of the car’s fittings and colors inside and out. The appointments combine aluminum, two-tone leather and wood.
