In 2010 BMW presented the successor of its top seller X3. The new generation of the X3 features the typical BMW X character, with the stretched silhouette and comes with two engine options.

The 2010 X3 combines a flat front end and a high rear, which gives it a sporty look. The front is dominated by the BMW kidney grille, the large headlight assembly, the front-apron and the bonnet with its six contour lines connecting to the kidney grill. The round headlights and the fog lamps complete the triangular light source arrangement, which is a feature of the BMW X models.

The horizontal lines at the back of the X3 underline the robust character of the new generation. These lines create light and shadow effects on the surface of the vehicle. With the characteristic X3 T shape, the taillights are located far to the outside.

According to BMW the 2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine fitted in the xDrive20d boasts a power output of 184 PS at 4000 and torque of 380 Nm between 1,750 and 2,750 rpm. Being able to reach a top speed of 210 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, the xDrive20d delivers an average fuel consumption of 5.6 l/100 km, which correspond to CO2 emissions of 149 g/km. The Auto Start Stop function features as standard in the X3 xDrive20d with manual gearbox.
