Lucerne was launched in 2006. The full-size 4-door sedan was launched with a V6 3.8l engine. In 2007, a more powerful version called Lucerne Super was present at NAIAS fitted with a 4.6l V8 engine. Two years later, a 3.9l V6 engine was debuted. Lucerne has ranked “Good” in the IIHS safety tests, although it had an “Acceptable” in the side impact crash tests.
