Porsche Cayman (Germany, 2005-present)

The Porsche Cayman is a mid-engined, rear wheel drive 2-seat sports car. It is marketed since 2006 and is a coupé based on the second generation Boxster convertible. It is available in the Cayman base version and as Cayman S and Cayman R.

In 2009 the model entered its second generation. The standard Cayman engine's displacement was increased from 2.7L to 2.9L, giving a 20 hp (15 kW) increase to 265 hp (198 kW). Also the Cayman S gained direct injection and a 25 hp (19 kW) increase to 320 hp (239 kW). The Cayman and Cayman S offer 10 hp (7 kW) more power than the Porsche Boxster. For the 2009 generation, the Porsche Tiptronic S automatic gearbox was replaced by the 7-speed PDK dual clutch transmission.
