The revised 2011 Captiva sports SUV has suffered a number of changes. Under its hood the SUV is powered by four engine choices, matted as standard with a new manual or automatic six-speed transmission. The new engine lineup consists of two petrol engines (2.4-litre and 3.0-litre) and two turbo-diesel variants (2.2-litre). With the 3.0 liter 258 hp V6 gasoline engine with direct injection and variable valve timing, the new Captiva is one of the most powerful compact SUVs on the market. The 2.2 diesel powertrain is offered with power outputs of 163 or 184 hp. The 2.4 liter dual overhead cam gasoline unit with variable valve timing has an output of 171 hp.
