Chevrolet publicly showed off its legendary model Corvette at the 1953 Motorama car show that was hosted at New York City’s Waldorf Astoria hotel. GM started off the production run of this sports car right in 1953 and, throughout 6 generations spawned, it is still currently being produced. Its name is inspired by the lightly armed small warships that are called ‘corvette’ – it gives the car a warrior and fearless image. The Chevrolet Corvette cars are currently being manufactured at the GM factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky, United States.
