CWS was a polish car and motorcycle manufacturer from the pre-war period. It was founded in 1918 by the Polish Ministry of War Affairs with the goal to provide mechanical equipment to the Polish Army such as tanks and armoured cars and motorcycles. After some time the company started to manufacture its own cars and motorcycles. Later in 1928 CWS was partially nationalized and its name was changed to Państwowe Zakłady Inżynieryjne (or PZInż). Nonetheless, the company kept using the CWS name on its motorcycles until the invasion of Poland.
