Daihatsu Charade (Japan, 1977-present)

Launched in 1977 the Daihatsu Charade is a supermini which is considered by the brand as a "large compact" car in order to differentiate it from smaller compacts in its lineup, such as the Daihatsu Mira/Cuore.

The Charade came to help the replacement of the Daihatsu Consorte.

After four generations, Daihatsu stopped producing the Charade in 2000, but the brand would resurrect the nameplate in 2003 in the UK and Australia, as a rebadged Daihatsu Mira (Cuore in other European markets).
