about this car
The two-wheeled Reitwagen (English: Riding Car), was filed as a patent by Gottlieb Daimler on 29 August 1885. It is significant to automobile history as the first road-going vehicle with combustion engine controlled by a human being. It may be considered the first motorcycle. In the year after, Daimler filed the patent for his four-wheeled Motorkutsche (English: Motor Carriage).
Almost simultaniously and without knowing of the other, in 1886, Carl Benz invented the three-wheeled Motorwagen (English: Patent Motor Car).
