Daus Werke was founded by Otto Daus, who had experience with manufacturing and driving aeroplanes. He worked from 1929 to 1947 with Vidal und Sohn, a company that manufactured small cars. Otto Daus left the company taking with him other Vidal employees. Yet, they maintained a good business relationshop, collaborating from time to time.
