For 2011 the Dodge Journey, the brand’s mid-size crossover, received a new and completely redesigned and retuned suspension, a new V-6 engine and a new interior. The enhancements also come in the form of connectivity with the new Journey featuring Chrysler Group’s new PowerNet electrical architecture. The 2011 Dodge Journey features the Uconnect Touch, a touch screen command center that drivers can use for navigation to dual-zone climate controls and to check fuel prices.

In order to improve the ride handling of the Journey, Chrysler engineers re-thought the suspension geometry, adding new, improved premium tires and redesigning the steering for a more precise and coordinated response.

The new Journey received a new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine with a power output of 283 HP and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (352.82 Nm). This new engine has a 20 percent increase of power and is matted with a six-speed transmission. Engineers reduced noise, vibration and harshness on the new Journey with the installation of new, premium sound-deadening treatments and insulation throughout the vehicle.

In terms of design the Journey maintains its sculpted, clean, aggressive lines but has been added a new front fascia that shows the new signature Dodge Brand “split crosshair” honeycomb grille. The Journey models with the Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 will get a new lower fascia with the honeycomb texture in the grille.

The Dodge Journey is built in at Chrysler Group LLC’s Toluca Assembly Plant in Toluca, Mexico. It arrived to U.S. dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2010.
