Volkswagen will introduce the electric version of the Up at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The e-Up is a pure electric vehicle with a 150km (93 mile) range. The car has peak power of 81hp from its electric motor and continuous power of 54hp, and it produces 155lb-ft of torque. Acceleration to 100km/h takes 14 seconds to a top speed of 135km/h (84mph). The power is supplied by an 18.7kWh battery located under the floor.

Charging takes place under the normal fuel door, and VW will offer an optional Combined Charging System that is standardized with other automakers and allows for either DC or AC charging. It can be quick charged to 80% in 30 minutes. 

In terms of looks, the e-Up is nearly identical to other versions of the car. It gets two, curved daytime running lights embedded where the front bumper protrudes from the body.
