Introduced in 1952, the first 250 series model was the 250 S. It was available in either berlinetta or spider configuration and was powered by a 3-liter Colombo engine producing about 230hp.
With the 250 S Bracco won the 1952 Mille Miglia, while Ascari failed to finish the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Further developments on the 250 S ended up leading to the construction of the 250MM.
