Freightliner was founded in 1942. In 2008 it was aquired by Daimler North America and it’s currently a truck division of that company. It started has a heavy truck producer, but today markets medium-duty vehicles as well. The Sprinter model, for example, is a rebaged Mercedes-Benz van that is sold under the Freightliner logo in the United States of America.
