HRG Engineering Company Ltd. was founded by Henry Ronald Godfrey, E.A. Halford and Guy Robins in Tolworth, Surrey, U.K., in 1936, to build sports cars. HRG’s were very stylish and won the 1½ litre class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1939 and 1949. Car production ceased in about 1956 but the company remained in business and in 1965 made another go with a new sports car model without success. The company saw its demise in 1966.
