History

Juan Hurtado Gonzalez, the founder of Hurtan, first started working with cars in Barcelona in companies that manufactured car bodies and was part of the development team of the 4-door Seat 800 in the 1960's. After the opening of his first garage in 1967, Gonzalez developed his first Hurtan prototype and continued to repair cars and taking his first steps as a designer, builder and transformer of cars.

In the beginning of the 1990's Gonzalez began working on his first classical style car, that would be inspired by his favorite decades, the 40's and 50's. In 1992 the car was launched, the Hurtan T2 followed by the T2+2. These roadsters used Renault engines with a chassis completely manufactured by the Hurtado family. In 2002 the company received approval to start marketing their prototype in 2004, as it would need some adaptation to fit the current European quality and environmental standards. The company's new model unveiled at the 2003 Retromovil Fair was named Hurtan Albaycin.

Today Hurtan continues to develop improvements and car with a classical style.
