International Harvester Company also known as IHC or IH was founded by Cyrus Hall McCormick in Chicago, back in 1847, under the name McCormick Harvesting Machine Company. In 1902 the Company merged with Deering Harvester Company, Plano, Milwaukee; and Warder, Bushnell, and Glessner and formed the International Harvester Company. IH dedicated to the production of a diversified line of agricultural machines and vehicles. The lack of specialization brought financial problems to the Company sold most of its businesses, including the corporate name and the IH symbol to Tenneco Inc. in 1984. The truck division kept in business under the name Navistar International Corporation, dedicating to engine, trucks and schools buses production.
