General Characteristics

The heart of the Agera R is a 5.0-liter, twin-turbo charged, 32 valve V8 producing 1115 horsepower (820 kW) & 885 (1200 Nm) lb/ft of torque on E85 ethanol.  Fill it with standard high-octane petrol and the Agera R makes a meager 930 hp (691 kW) & 811 (1100 Nm) lb/ft of torque. The engine is mated to a newly developed, lightweight 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. Power is routed to the tarmac via Koenigsegg’s electronic (E-Diff) limited slip differential.

The chassis is a carbon fiber monocoque.  Weighing a feathery 70 kg (154 lbs) and designed to run roofless, its stiffness is rated at a granite like 65K Nm/deg. The Agera R, is also a study in lightness.  Filled with fluids and ready to run with half a tank of E85, the Agera R weighs an astonishing 3120 lbs. (1418 kg), or about 1000 lbs. less than the current top speed king, the mighty Bugatti Veyron (1888 kg).
