General Characteristics

The model that replaces the Murcielago in Lamborghini’s lineup is only just a little bit over a metre high and features upward opening doors. Thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre, the Aventador weights only 1,575 kilograms, helping to increase its performance as well as its handling.

Powered by a twelve-cylinder engine with 6.5 liters’ displacement, delivering 700 hp and torque of 690 Nm, the Aventador is able to reach a top speed of 350 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. Although the Aventador has seen its power increased by 8%, compared to the Murcielago, Lamborghini was able to reduce its fuel consumption by around 20%.

Inside, the Aventador features two TFT-LCD touch screens, one displaying the car’s functions and the other displaying the Lamborghini’s satellite navigation system and in-car computer.

The Aventador gets its name as usual from a courageous specimen of bull from the world of the Spanish Corrida. This time the Aventador was a bull that entered the arena in October 1993 at Saragoza, earning the “Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera” for its outstanding courage.
