The Lamborghini Aventador, also called LP 700-4, is a two-door, two-seat sports car that will replace the Murciélago. It was unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and its name according to its tradition is a reference to a fighting bull. The Aventador was named after a spanish fighting bull that became famous in 1993 in Zaragoza after a violent confrontation with a torero.
Featuring a new 6.5 litre V12 engine it produces 700 HP at 8250 RPM and 690 Nm torque at 5500 RPM reaching a top speed of 350Km/h. Another feature is the ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) transmission unheard of in road cars. The single-clutch 7-speed semi-automatic transmission performs better than a dual clutch as gear shifting takes only 50 milliseconds.
Deliveries of the super car are set to start in the summer of 2011.
