Ferrari was regaining the lost ground with faster cars, so Lamborghini designed a new prototype. Almost totally redesigned, it used a 7.1 liter V12 engine with a power output of 600 PS but the car was never built. Later in 1986 a redesigned Countach prototype was built resorting to the blueprints of the Lamborghini Countach 7000 project but there wasn't a complete redesign work as it was seen on the initial project. Instead it used an improved design of the current production version of the Lamborghini Countach.
