The Hurácan Super Trofeo was unveiled at the 2014 “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering”. Lamborghini developed the car for the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series, starting in 2015. The Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo will appear in the European, Asian and North American championships.

Lamborghini had the collaboration from Dallara Engineering on the development of the Huracán Super Trofeo. The racing car from the Italian brand uses the same V10 direct-injection engine of the road version. However, the engine has been given a track configuration that allows an output increase to 620hp. The car has rear wheel drive to facilitate the car's transition to GT competition.

The Super Trofeo Huracan weighs 1270kg thanks to a hybrid chassis of carbon fiber and aluminum, as well as a reduction to the essentials for competition. To improve aerodynamics the Super Trofeo is equipped with a ten-positions rear wing, a rear diffuser and adjustable front air inlets. These changes improve efficiency, traction and downforce. The vehicles are equipped with exclusive Pirelli tires.
