Land Rover presented the Freelander 2 SD4 Sport Limited Edition, a special edition of the brands’ best-selling model, at the Bologna Motor Show in 2010. For this Limited Edition the Freelander 2 received an updated and sportier interior and exterior design.
In terms of exterior design, the Freelander 2 SD4 Sport Limited Edition received a black finish to the grille and the side vents, a new body styling pack which offers cleaner profiling to the front corners, and a choice of three exterior colors: Fuji White, Santorini Black or the new Firenze Red. A rear spoiler has also been added together with 19" Shadow Chrome alloy wheels, body colored door handles and mirror caps. Finally a privacy glass has been fitted to this premium limited edition.
Inside the Freelander 2 is finished in Ebony Windsor leather with contrast Pimento stitch, or Ebony Napoli leather with contrast Windsor leather highlight stripe on the seats. The Limited Edition also features the Piano Black fascia finisher that is combined with Ebony carpet mats with a contrast edge of either Ivory or Pimento.
The Freelander 2 SD4 Sport is powered by the new 190PS diesel engine which is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds and to reach a top speed of 190 km/h. The Limited Edition is fitted with the Intelligent Power Management System (IPMS), which recharges the battery with the recovery of kinetic energy when the vehicle is slowing, rather than consuming fuel by charging when the vehicle is accelerating. The Freelander 2 Sport SD4 Limited Edition is also compatible with 10 percent biodiesel rather than five percent. Thanks to these features, the Limited Edition has reduced the CO2 emissions of 185 g/km.
Since its launch in 2006 until 2010, the Freeander 2 has sold over 215,000 units and is Land Rover’s best-selling model.
