The first hybrid
A reconstruction of the first workable full-hybrid car in the world, the “Semper Vivus” was shown at the exhibition "Ferdinand Porsche - Pioneer of the Hybrid Drive” in June 2011, at the museum at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG in Stuttgart.
The vehicle was designed by Ferdinand Porsche at the turn of the 20th century. In this vehicle, two generators, connected to petrol engines, form a charging unit which simultaneously provides current to motors at the wheel hub as well as to batteries.
