Lotec was founded in 1962 by Kurt Lotterschmid. Production of Lotec sports cars began in 1969 with the company moving on to tuning of Porsche cars throughout the 1970s. From 1983 Lotec also offered modification programmes for Mercedes-Benz. The most recent own design of the German brand is the super sports car Lotec Sirius.
