The Lotus Evora GTC is a race car launched in 2012 in an effort to make Lotus a more competitive name within the racing scene.

To cut weight the new Evora has carbon fiber doors, roof and engine cover and plexiglass windows. It is 30kg lighter than the previous version and, depending on specification, weighs between 1130kg and 1140kg.

The Evora GTC has wider wheels in tires. It is now rolling on 10in wide tires in the front and 12in wide in the rear, and to accept the wider wheels, the car has wider fender flares as well.

Power continues to come from a 4.0l, V6 with 450hp and 460Nm of torque mated to a six-speed sequential transmission. However, to put power down better, there is now traction control and Bosch Racing anti-lock brakes.

The car is eligible to race in the MSA Endurance Series, British GT Championship, VdeV Series, Dutch Supercar, Dubai 24 Hours and the 12 Hours of Bathurst. It is also undergoing homologation for the Grand-Am GTC.
