In 2011, to celebrate 150 years of Italian unification, Lotus gave the Italian military police, the Carabinieri, two modified Evora S models. One car would be used in Rome, and the other in Milan.
The two Evoras had been outfitted with voice recognition technology and refrigerated compartments. Lotus’ intention was that the cars were to be used as high-speed transports for blood or internal organs during medical emergencies.
