Morris

Founded in 1910, the Morris Motor Company was a British car manufacturer thought by William Morris, a bicycle manufacturer that became interested in car manufacturing. Its first model was introduced in 1913, with the factory already working, and was called Morris Oxford "Bullnose".

In 1938 Wiliam Morris, recently nominated Viscount Nuffield, merged Morris Motor Company (incorporating Wolseley) and MG with newly acquired Riley to establish a new company: the Nuffield Organisation.

In 1952 the Nuffield Organisation merged with its old rival the Austin Motor Company to form the British Motor Corporation (BMC). The Morris, MG, Riley and Wolseley marques were brought into the merger.Morris became a badge of the new company being used until 1984.
