The S63 AMG features the new AMG engine which is 25% more efficient than the current model, with 10.5 litres per 100 kilometres of fuel consumption in combined cycle.

CO2 emissions have also been significantly reduced: at 246 grams per kilometre, the figure is 28.5 percent lower than for the previous model. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission is a major responsible for the combination of dynamism and economy.

The AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine 5461 cc of displacement, 747 cubic centimeters less than the AMG 6.3 litre V8 naturally aspirated engine. This reduction is possible thanks to the use of direct injection technology. This powertrain also uses the advantages of direct petrol injection with spray-guided combustion and piezo-electric injectors.

Nevertheless, according to AMG performance isn’t affected as the S 63 AMG still maintains performance at sports car level. The high performance sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
