Mercury Mariner (United States of America, 2005-present)

The Mercury Mariner is a 4-door compact crossover SUV launched in 2005. The vehicle has a front engine, front- or four-wheel drive layout. The Mariner is closely related to the Mazda Tribute and Ford Escape however marketed in a slightly higher vehicle class. In Mercury's line-up, the Mariner is placed below the Mountaineer. Due to the discontinuation of the Mercury brand, the Mariner ceased production in autumn 2010.

The model was marketed across two generations, the second one being launched in 2008. This model still used the same Ford CD2 platform as the first generation, but received a number of updates in terms of interior and exterior styling as well as improvements in terms of fuel efficiency.
