SA L'Auto Métallurgique, was founded in Marchienne-au-Pont, Belgium in 1898. The company first engaged in the manufacture of railway locomotives but soon turned to the automobile industry. By 1905 Metallurgique was already considered one of the best sports cars brands in Europe. SA L'Auto Métallurgique was taken over by Imperia in 1927 and the plant was sold to Minerva. The brand name was dropped in 1928.
