Available in Cooper, Cooper Convertible, Clubman and Countryman, these variants are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that is able to produce a maximum power of 143 hp and 305 Nm of torque. The engine has the same basic architecture as the 1.6-liter units that can be found under the bonnet of the MINI One D and the MINI Cooper D.
The MINI Cooper SD accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 215 km/h. In the EU test cycle it features an average fuel consumption of 4.3 l/100km which represents CO2 emissions of 114g/km. The MINI Cooper SD features some characteristic design cues. Its twin tailpipes are positioned in the centre of the rear apron. The MINI Cooper SD, MINI Cooper SD Clubman and MINI Cooper SD Countryman are also fitted with a roof spoiler.
