In 2011 MINI debuts a range of new sporty diesel models that are labeled SD. Available in Cooper, Cooper Convertible, Clubman and Countryman, these variants are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that is able to produce a maximum power of 143 hp and 305 Nm of torque. The engine has the same basic architecture as the 1.6-liter units that can be found under the bonnet of the MINI One D and the MINI Cooper D.
The MINI Cooper SD Clubman reaches a top speed of 215 km/h, while accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in 8.6 seconds. With a fuel consumption average of 4.4 litres per 100 km, the Cooper SD Clubman produces 115g/km of CO2.
The MINI Cooper SD features some characteristic design cues. Its twin tailpipes are positioned in the centre of the rear apron. The MINI Cooper SD, MINI Cooper SD Clubman and MINI Cooper SD Countryman are also fitted with a roof spoiler.
