The 2012 Mini John Cooper Works GP is limited edition of 2,000 units launched by BMW and revealed at the Mini United Festival in Le Castellet, France.

The new GP has been taken to the Nürburgring Nordschleife by BMW and did a lap of 8:23, which is a full 19 seconds faster than the previous generation. The car is equipped with a race-spec suspension tuned for the road, better brakes, bespoke four-spoke wheels, sticky tires and retuned aerodynamics thanks to a new front bumper and rear wing.

In addition to the larger front and rear bumpers that offer more downforce. The car also gets deeper side skirts and a functional rear diffuser. Inside, the rear seat has been removed.
