The Volkswagen Polo is a supermini or subcompact car sold as hatchback, saloon, coupé and estate variants. It was first introduced in 1975 and until today has been produced in five generations. T

The last generation was introduced in 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show and was declared European Car of the Year 2010 ans well as World Car of the Year at the New York International Auto Show 2010. It won What Car? 2010 Supermini Car and was awarded Japan Import Car of the Year for 2010-2011.

The fifth generation Polo is 36 mm longer and 32 mm wider than its predecessor. Its boot capacity was increased and the weight reduced by 7.5%. It is available with a variety of eight petrol and diesel engines. GTI and BlueMotion versions of the Polo are also available as well as a 2011 CrossPolo.
