The Chevrolet Malibu is a mid-size car produced since 1964. It is marketed in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and the Middle East and is currently in its seventh generation.

The latest generation was designed by Bryan Nesbitt and introduced in 2008. It is based on a modified long-wheelbase Epsilon platform. The seventh generation Malibu is offered with a variety of engine and transmission choices. For 2009 the six-speed transmission mated to the 2.4L 4 cylinder engine or the 217 horsepower 3.5L V6 mated to the 4-speed automatic were made available on the 1LT. The 6-speed is standard on 2LT models. LS models were equipped with the 4-speed transmission only. For 2011 the four speed automatic transmission will be dropped from the Malibu powertrain lineup. All models are front-wheel drive sedans.
