The Suzuki Equator is a mid-size pickup available as 2-door and 4-door truck. The body styles available are Extended Cab and Crew Cab with seating for four to five passengers. The vehicle has a front engine, rear-wheel or four-wheel drive layout and is based on the Nissan Frontier.

The model was presented in 2008 and launched on the North American market in 2009. The engine range starts with a base 2.5 L Inline-4 producing 152 hp with either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic. A 4.0 L V6 engine producing 261 hp is available with standard five-speed automatic and optional four-wheel-drive.

Initially building weaving looms for the silk industry, Suzuki invented a new type of weaving machine, that was exported, filed 120 patents and utility model rights. Despite its success Suzuki felt the need to diversify his company and so after doing research on current consumer's demand, he decided to focus on building a small car.
