Abarth will be taking to the Paris Motor Show the 500C and Punto Evo fitted with the new esseesse kit. With both tuned cars the scorpion brand has the objective to create “a unique driving experience in terms of performance, handling, comfort and safety”.
Thanks to the tuning kit, both cars receive a burst of power, which improves performance and acceleration but according to Abarth it doesn’t affect the CO2 levels. Thanks to the Sport function, standard on all Abarth cars, the new kits further enhance driving satisfaction.
As part of Abarth’s tradition, both the esseesse kit for the 500C and the Punto Evo are delivered to customers in a wooden case and are fitted exclusively by official Abarth tuning centres to ensure the highest standards of monitoring and safety.
Abarth Punto Evo esseesse
The tuned Punto Evo esseesse will be powered by the 1.4 16v Turbo MultiAir power unit, enhanced up to a power output of 180 hp at 5750 rpm and maximum torque of 270 Nm at 3000 rpm. Thanks to it the Punto Evo esseesse is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds, achieving a top speed of 216 km/h. According to Abarth, although the power on both cars has been pumped, the CO2 emissions produced by the MultiAir have remained unchanged at 142 g/km, maintaining the Euro 5 compliance.
Other features of the esseesse kit on the Punto Evo include perforated, ventilated front disc brakes (diameter 305 mm x 28 mm), perforated rear disc brakes (diameter 264 mm x 11 mm), high performance front brake pads, front and rear Koni shock absorbers with FSD valve, specific red springs set lower than those on the original car, Abarth esseesse 7” x 18” ET39 alloy wheels painted white or titanium, combined with 215/40 ZR18 tyres.
The Abarth Punto Evo convertion gets completed with a special “powered by BMC” air filter, an Abarth silencer with twin tail pipes, and esseesse badges for the engine cover and tailgate.
Abarth 500C esseesse
As for the 500C esseesse it will be power by a tuned 1.4 16v Turbo T-Jet power unit which has a power otput of 160 hp at 5750 rpm and maximum torque of 230 Nm at 3000 rpm. The tuned 500C is able to reach a top speed of 209 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds. The esseesse cabrio also maintains its Euro 5 compliance like the Punto Evo, with CO2 emissions of 151 g/km.
The esseesse kit on the 500C includes perforated, ventilated front disc brakes (diameter 284 mm x 22 mm), perforated rear disc brakes (diameter 240 mm x 11 mm), high performance front brake pads, front and rear Koni shock absorbers with FSD valve, specific red springs set lower than those on the original car, Abarth esseesse 7” x 17” ET35 alloy wheels painted white or titanium, combined with 205/40 ZR17 tyres.
The tuning kit is completed with four sensors to record correct tyre pressure, a special “powered by BMC” air filter and esseesse badges for the engine cover and tailgate.
The Abarth 500C esseesse will be available from October in all European markets.
