Audi Adding 11 New Models in the Next Six Years

will add 11 new models through 2020 by investing €22 billion from 2014 through 2018 in expanding global production, creating new models, and developing new technology. It is the largest investment in the company’s history. It is also part of the company’s goal to sell 2 million cars a year by 2018 from 1.5 million in 2013.

Seventy percent of the money will go into new models and technology, and the majority of the rest will go into major improvements in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm. Among the new models will be the A3 e-tron, A3 g-tronA3 Sportback TCNGAudi A3 Sportback TCNGGermany, 2013 > present13 photos

“We had set the goal of 1.5 million deliveries per year by 2015, but we already achieved that quite comfortably in 2013. We are now decisively steering towards our next milestone of two million deliveries. This is why we are keeping our foot on the gas regarding investments and why we are hiring new employees in 2014,” said Audi Chairman Rupert Stadler.

Audi will also have a renewed focus on the Americas in the near future with its Mexican factory that will start building the Q5 in 2016 and Brazilian factory for the A3 Sedan and Q3Q3Audi Q3Germany, 2011 > present3 photos
