. Thanks to the new hybrid system the plug-in hybrid seven-seater SUV offers a range of 1410km, with an average consumption of 1.7l/100km.
With the new Q7 e-tron Audi is debuting the new hybrid plug-in diesel-electric system, which according to management of the company will be key for the German brand to achieve the goal of reducing average CO2 emissions to 95g/km until 2020.
The base of the new hybrid system developed by Audi is the 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged diesel engine with 258hp and 600Nm of torque which has been combined with an electric motor of 128hp and 350Nm of torque. Disc-shaped, the latter is mounted on the front area of the eight-speed automatic transmission of the Q7 e-tron. The two engines offer a combined output of 373hp and 700Nm torque, ensuring an acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 6 seconds and a top speed of 225km/h.
Thanks to the average consumption of 1.7l/100km, the new Q7 e-tron emits an average 50g/km of CO2. In addition to providing a hybrid range of 1410km, the vehicle can still be driven in electric mode over 56km.
To increase the efficiency of Q7 and Audi-tron introduced an innovation in terms of production hybrid vehicles, a heat pump that collects the waste heat of the electric components of the car, using it to heat the cabin when necessary.
The new Q7 e-tron will be available on the market from the end of 2015.
