from continuing to fine-tune its new sports car.
Its latest development trip was to the Nürburgring Nordschleife for testing. Chevrolet says that the test is to tweak the suspension for European roads for the European model of the Corvette that is still a few months away from going on sale.
It is testing two seventh-generation Corvettes in Europe, and they will be driven all over the continent to tweak them for European buyers.
Unfortunately, Chevrolet has not revealed the car’s lap times, which would allow for a basis of comparison against other modern sports cars.
"Nürburgring is renowned for its demanding race track and it is perfectly suited for our purpose, which is to fine-tune the ride and handling characteristics of the European Corvette Stingray.”
“We are paying particular attention to the suspension set-up and the steering at Nürburgring. European roads are quite distinct and different from those in the U.S., and so are driving habits,” said Jim Mero, vehicle dynamics engineer at General Motors.
