for its new brand ambassador Monty Halls, a marine explorer and conservationist. The truck has been modified to serve as a mobile dive center for Halls.

The truck gets storage for air tanks, a VHF ship-to-shore radio, a water tank and hose for cleaning, an extending awning and extra lighting around the vehicle to work at night. It also gets a sliding table inside that can bear up to 200kg. Land Rover’s Engineer to Order team also came up with a modular winch system that attaches to either side of the truck that can be used to launch or pull in a dinghy.

"I've had Land Rovers for years; the association goes back to my days in the Royal Marines when they were very much the vehicle of choice for doing improbable tasks over impossible terrain. After leaving the marines and getting into expeditions, it seems a natural transition to continue using Landies,” said Halls.

He said that he plans to use the truck on expeditions in the UK around the country’s 11,000 miles of coastline. His first project with the truck will be monitoring basking sharks near Cornwall. He is also planning a trip to Norway to observe Orca whales.
