MINI has unveiled the Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) for 2017. The new flagship SUV gets the same powertrain and ALL4 all-wheel drive system as the Clubman JCW estate. The model's official debut will take place in April at the Shanghai Motor Show.
More powerful and efficient engine
The 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine powering the Countryman JCW handles an output of 231hp and 350Nm of torque. Compared to its predecessor power has increased by 13hp which allows the new JCW to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 6.5seconds, 0.8 seconds faster than the MINI Cooper S Countryman ALL4, and reach a top speed of 234km/h.
Fit as standard on the Countryman JCW is a 6-speed manual transmission, however an 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission is available as an optional.
In terms of efficiency the new Countryman JCW has an announced combined consumption of 7.4l/100km in the manual form and 6.9l/100km with the 8-speed Steptronic. CO2 emissions is 169g/km and 158g/km respectively.

As with all the remaining JCW versions, the Countryman JCW gets a firmer suspension and larger Brembo brakes. It also gets a driving mode selector which allows an improvement of the response on the accelerator.
On the outside the car gets a unique aerodinamic kit and JCW design cues, including 18in wheels and redesigned bumpers. Other sportier updates include sports steering wheel and seats as well as the roof liner in anthracite
